Hi everyone!
My name is Mark, and I'm a construction business owner from the Netherlands with nearly 30 years of experience in residential construction, renovations, and custom homes.
My wife and I are currently exploring opportunities to establish a construction business in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
We're particularly interested in connecting with local residential developers and entrepreneurs who have experience building and developing homes in North Texas.
Our long-term goal is to explore a potential joint venture where we could combine our European construction experience and investment capital with a local partner's market knowledge and development expertise.
One area that has caught our attention is the challenge of building on expansive clay soils in North Texas.
In the Netherlands, we regularly deal with challenging ground conditions and use various foundation systems, including deep foundations and suspended floor structures.
We're curious whether combining certain European techniques with established Texas construction practices could offer interesting opportunities for future residential developments.
We understand that any such approach would require local engineering expertise and a proper feasibility assessment.
I'd be interested to hear from experienced DFW developers and builders:
What do you consider the biggest challenges when developing new residential projects in North Texas?
And have any of you explored partnerships with international construction professionals or alternative foundation approaches?
Looking forward to learning from your experiences and connecting with people in the local industry.
Best regards,
Mark rademakers
