Property Taxes and Insurance

    After the mortgage, two of the biggest expenses for buy and hold investors is probably property taxes and insurance. 

    To dispute property taxes I have used Resolute Property Tax Solutions and The Ray Tax Group.

    For property insurance I currently use The Hanks Group, Allstate and State Farm depending on the property. 

    Would anyone like to share who they are using to dispute property value and insurance coverage?

    Hi Philip.

    I have used Ola Tax (until they dropped the ball on me) and The Ray Group (at your recommendation). I didn't like the fact that Ray locks you in to a recurring contract.

    For insurance: American Modern and State Farm.

    I've used Bobby Ola (Ola Tax) for a long time.  Everything doesn't always go perfectly, but, for that matter, it didn't always go perfectly when my wife & I used to do all the work ourselves.  So... since they've done a pretty good job for us for so many years, I plan to continue using Ola Tax for the foreseeable future.  Bobby's number is (817) 987-1033.

    I have used Ownwell for many years.  They do both residential and commercial properties, they protest taxes in many different states, and they can do any county in Texas as well.  If they don't win, you pay nothing.  Year-to-year commitment only.  You can check them out HERE
