Inspector recommendation

We're making an offer on our first investment property later today (whoohoo!).  Assuming our offer is accepted, I intend to order and inspection and to shadow the inspector to learn a few things -- about the house, AND the inspection process.

My agent has a few recommended inspectors.  But since y'all have proven to be such a great resource, I thought I'd ask here too:  anyone have a home inspector you would recommend -- one that would allow me to walk through the inspection with them?

    Thanks in advance.

    Rick,

The guy I like to recommend to new investors for this sort of thing is Kent Keith (http://www.fortworthinspector.com).

Thanks, Greg.  Looks like our best and final offer was refused.  The hunt continues...

    Keep swinging.

When I was first starting I got to make 103 "No" offers before they took #104.

Rick, you took the most important step a Real Estate Investor can take. You Made an Offer!!
That “No” means you are one offer closer to getting a “Yes”. You my friend are on your way to that first payday as a Real Estate Investor. Keep making those offers!

Thanks...  I definitely appreciate the encouragement.  I can't help wondering if I wasn't a bit too obstinate in my negotiations.  But I fear overpaying much more than I fear passing on a deal.  We'll get there.  We're fortunate in that we are under no pressure to close a deal beyond what we put on ourselves.

Sure seems like then inventory has dried up in the last six months or so...

Two things to remember about Real Estate Investing:|

    (1) You make your profit when you buy.

    (2) The deal of a lifetime comes every week in Real Estate.

Keep your forward motion going. You are doing good!
