I need to have a garage door replaced at a rental. Does anyone have a good contact for a garage door replacement? I see the going price on Craigslist for a standard 16x7 door is $499. Anyone know of a better deal?

    Thanks!

Joe, be sure that includes removal of the old door and perimeter seal.  If so, that's a good price. That's the price I get on new homes, no door removal.  Rehab doors run close to $650.  I know someone that quotes it for less (I would have to search my old cards) but I wouldn't be comfortable with the quoted price.

    Joe,

$499 for an existing door removal and new door install with all new hardware is VERY aggressive. It means the installer is working for about $80/door (labor).

We have used Cowtown Door for repairing garage doors on REO properties. We have had very good luck with them and found their prices to be very reasonable.
