I have a pest control guy that has done numerous jobs for me, but this has not been solved with his treatments thus far.  Apparently this is an abnormally difficult eradication - probably German Cockroaches, which are the worst, plus rats or mice infestation that has persisted through a couple attempts already.  (also, they have come and "gone" over a few years even after I supposedly closed up their entry points!)

I have contacted "Critter Control" - which sound like 'experts' in this, but they are quite expensive. (reg. roaches $150, German are more.  Mice etc. can take $299 and up if they also close up their holes etc.)

Looking for suggestions or referrals - but I need tried and true in this type situation.  Anyone?

    Cindy,

We buy two products from doityourselfpestcontrol.com--(i) Protecta LP bait stations and Contrac bait blocks to control rats, and (ii) Demon for roaches.  They both work well for us.

The company is very helpful with questions about the products.  If I can help you further, please let me know.  There are some do's and don'ts for the rat treatments.

    Tricia

Hi Cindy, I have used Roach Proof in the past with good success. It contains powdered boric acid, which by the way can be bought in most drug stores pretty cheap. Keep in mind it is dry acid and will kill everything that eats it. Roaches and such clean themselves and each other, so when they lick they are killed from the inside out. Also if there are cats or other pets around that might eat these pest they might have a problem too, so be careful. I use it under sinks, under furnace vents, and any place that i think is hidden and hard to get to.

    Hi Cindy,

I asked my pest guy, Joe, about your problem and he says he can give you a hand.  If you give him a call, he can discuss the problem and solution(s) on the phone with you, and he's glad to offer "investor pricing."  I've worked with him for a couple of years and he's always been very responsive, effective and friendly.  My tenants have also been very complimentary about him.
