The numbers (elevations) are crazy on this house. It appears to be tilted - high in back, down in front which might be how it was originally poured. But, in additon it is still falling more in the front. This particular slab has moved down in front {about 15+ feet inside the property inward from the perimeter} approximately 1-2 inches in the 2 years since we purchased it. Yet, the rear of the property remains up quite high 2-3 inches, like the whole thing was built on a tilt...So, we want to make sure we are folowing the proper plan as outlined by an engineer. We have had experience with another property where 2 engineers came in with vastly different plans - that's why we want one we can be confident in!
We'd like to hire an independent Structural Engineer, but we don't want to be random about it. We want someone who understands investor needs and will be objective about the work needed without being alarmist.
Any suggestions regarding the possible TILTED Slab etc as well as recommendations for a decent Structural Eng. would be appreciated. This is on two attached single family homes - the unit functions and appears to be a duplex, but they are titled separately, and we own both sides.
THANKS!
Cindy
